Tool PaletteThe currently selected drawing tool determines what happens when you tap or drag the stylus in the canvas area of the screen.
Select a tool by tapping its icon in the tools palette. The currently selected tool is highlighted with a white rectangle as shown in Figure 4.
Tools include:

| Selection | Use this tool to select and modify objects in the drawing. (See the Moving and Resizing Objects and Context Menus sections of this tutorial.) | ||

| Pan | When this tool is selected, dragging the stylus across the canvas area of the screen scrolls the drawing in the direction you're dragging. It's a lot like dragging a piece of paper. | ||
|
|||
| Pen | Selecting this tool turns the stylus into a pen. Dragging the stylus in this mode leaves "ink" on the canvas. Paths drawn in this manner are selectable as objects. | ||
|
|||
| Line | Draws a straight line from the point where the stylus first hits the canvas, to the point where it is lifted. The line includes any end styles defined in Line Defaults. | ||

Orthogonal and |
These tools are used to create connector lines between objects. The section Connecting Objects with Lines contains more detail on their use. | ||
